It is for educational purposes for Kaspa

No, it is up to you to make your own financial decisions concerning Kaspa.

While both use Proof-of-Work (PoW), the core difference lies in how they process data. The Architecture: Bitcoin is a single-track blockchain where only one block can be added at a time. Kaspa uses a BlockDAG (Directed Acyclic Graph), specifically the GHOSTDAG protocol. This allows multiple blocks to be created and confirmed simultaneously without orphaning (discarding) parallel blocks.  The Speed: Bitcoin has a 10-minute block time. As of mid-2026, Kaspa operates at a blistering 10 blocks per second, aiming for even higher throughput, providing near-instant transaction confirmations.

Historically, Kaspa was a "pure" payments layer, similar to Bitcoin. However, the most frequent question recently surrounds its transition to a programmable Layer 1.

The Answer: Yes, as of the Toccata hard fork (scheduled for June 2026), Kaspa is introducing native smart contract capabilities. This includes the KRC-20 token standard and SilverScript (a programming language for covenants), allowing developers to build Decentralized Finance (DeFi) applications and NFT projects directly on the Kaspa network for the first time.

Investors often ask about the scarcity of KAS, especially since its emission schedule is much faster than Bitcoin’s.

Supply Cap: Kaspa has a hard cap of approximately 28.7 billion KAS.

The "Smooth" Halving: Unlike Bitcoin’s sharp four-year halving events, Kaspa uses a "chromatic" phase-down where emissions decrease every single month. By late 2026, over 95% of the total supply will have already been mined. This means the network is entering a "scarcity phase" where new supply entering the market becomes almost negligible.
